Aldinger 2022 Feldhase Trollinger
No grape exemplifies Württemberg quite like Trollinger. Italophiles lap it up when it is called Vernatsch or Schiava. But it is indigenous to Germany! Susceptible to over-cropping and wateriness, in Aldingers’ hands it becomes a thing of beauty – with plenty of color and fruit, against which the trademark earthiness manifests as a nuance rather than a dominant trait. The name “Feldhase”, or “hare”, pays homage to the producer’s devotion to nature. They are big supporters of Stuttgart’s Zoo, as well.

Notes from the Producer: The fruity aromas of this Trollinger show hints of strawberries and sour cherries, accompanied by some thym and nutmeg. An elegant body alongside a refreshing acidity and a soft tannine structur form a destinctive Trollinger. In the swabian region, this wine is traditionally served at a lower temperature.
